Who We are

We are Danny & Kirsten and here is our story and we’re sticking to it!

Danny, originally from Pennsylvania, moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2017 after retiring from a 25 year career in the Air Force to start a new career in IT and to be near his oldest daughter and grandson. A little more than a year later, in November 2018, he was fortunate to meet Kirsten (originally from New York and an Air Force veteran) via a mutual friend. At that time, neither of us knew the future but it did not take long for us to become friends and eventually best friends.

We lost some time together due to covid but we both realized we missed each other and started to reconnect early 2022. We both enjoy the simple things in life and enjoy doing things together. In March 2023 we officially started dating and to make sure we didn’t waste any more time Danny proposed on 21 April, and we were married 16 September 2023.

In early 2024 we decided we wanted to make a change in our life. One factor being the location of where our children live. Besides Florida we also have children and grandchildren living in Texas, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. After discussing, we realized that we both had an affinity for Tennessee and since it somewhat centralized to the location of our children, we decided to look for new home there.

After a few months of looking, we found a 12-acre plot of land in Mosheim that we fell in love with immediately. We are in the process of making a new life for us. One where we can simplify and get back to basics. One where we can enjoy the simple things in life; friends, family and each other.

They may appear weathered, handmade, or unrefined. Common rustic materials include wood, especially, rough-hewn or reclaimed wood, stone, wrought iron, and natural fabrics.

Rustic design emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature. It often incorporates earthy colors and textures. Rustic buildings might feature exposed beams, stone fireplaces, and natural materials. Examples include log cabins or farmhouses.

Rustic food is typically simple, hearty, and made with local ingredients. It's often associated with traditional cooking methods and comfort food. A rustic lifestyle implies living close to nature, often with a focus on simplicity and self-sufficiency. Rustic crafts tend to be handmade and may have a slightly imperfect or artisanal quality.
